The program
The PADI Divemaster program is a substantial step towards a professional diving career, providing extensive training and a deep understanding of diving knowledge and skills. We recommend a minimum of three weeks for the course, but the more time you invest, the more confident and skilled you will become! The ideal time to invest is around 4 weeks. You can start whenever suits you best, and if you are on a specific time line or planning, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us to discuss possibilities!
Divemaster Training is structured to be a flexible program, Flexibility here means it doesn't follow strict rules tracking every day like other courses, insisting on completing specific tasks on a set schedule. This can vary depending on weather conditions, sea conditions, and the health status of the candidate or instructor. However, under normal circumstances, it operates on this schedule.
Here is a more detailed overview of the program:
Course Structure:
-
Theoretical Knowledge Development: The course covers dive theory, diving physics, physiology, equipment, decompression theory, and the environment. Candidates undergo comprehensive training to develop a solid understanding of these fundamental aspects.
-
Water Skills: Throughout your Divemaster program you will need to complete five waterskills exercises, earning a combined score of at least 15. These exercises consist of:
-
Exercise 1: 400 Meters Swim
-
Exercise 2: 15-minute Tread
-
Exercise 3: 800 Meters Swim
-
Exercise 4: 100 Meters Diver Tow
-
Exercise 5: Equipment Exchange

-
Practical Application: As part of the course, candidates enhance their scuba diving skills to demonstration quality, ensuring they are capable of demonstrating skills for student divers.

-
Leadership and Supervision: Participants learn how to supervise dive activities and assist with the organization and execution of diving operations. This involves guiding certified divers and assisting with student diver training.

Training Process:
-
The Divemaster course requires completion of knowledge development through self-study, classroom sessions, and independent research. Candidates take assessments and exams to ensure understanding and proficiency.
-
The practical training involves working closely with PADI Instructors, assisting them with student divers, leading certain dive programs, and providing guidance and feedback.

Outcome:
Upon successful completion of the Divemaster program, candidates receive a PADI Divemaster certification. This certification enables them to:
-
Assist PADI Instructors with students.
-
Supervise certain diving activities independently.
-
Lead specific PADI programs, such as the Scuba Review and the Skin Diver course.

Overall, the Divemaster program equips individuals with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to start their professional journey in the diving industry. It's a stepping stone for those interested in becoming scuba diving professionals and pursuing roles as dive guides, assistant instructors, or pursuing further levels of professional diving education.
