Getting to Koh Tao from Bangkok
There are 3 simple ways:
1. Fly to Koh Samui
Flights depart Bangkok every half an hour from around 0600. Check the ferry times from Koh Samui to Koh Tao before you book your flight. The ferry trip is 2-3 hours.
2. Bus & Ferry combined ticket
The combined ticket is the cheapest and most popular way of getting to Koh Tao from Bangkok. There are a few different options. Any travel agent in Bangkok will be able to make a booking for you. You can also book online here.
3. Train to Chumphon
Travelling on the train is usually more comfortable than the bus. You can even book overnight trains with beds. Ferry companies provide free transfers between the train station and the ferry pier. Check the train timetable here.
